SUNDAY SCHOOL

We have Sunday School classes for ages 3-Senior High. Children under 3 are invited to learn and explore in our nursery.

Sunday School for students ages 3 - 12 grade will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Children  should check in at the Sunday School desk in the narthex before they go to worship. Children begin worship with their families at 9:15 in the sanctuary then, following the children’s message, they will be dismissed to go with their teachers to their classrooms. If you have a child who is 3 years old - 2nd grade, you will need to come to his/her room at 10:30 a.m. to pick up the child. The teachers in these classes will not release the children. They must be picked up at their classroom.

On the 1st Sunday of each month, children will worship at 9:15 with their families; there will not be separate Sunday School on those Sundays. Following the service, the congregation will be invited to participate in our "Share the Love" Mission Project.

Third and Fourth Graders Received Bibles

On September 15, 2019 our third and fourth graders received Bibles from the congregation. They will use the Bibles in Sunday School as they learn the Word of God.

Sunday School Offering

Each Sunday School class collects an offering every week as a way to teach our students the importance of showing our love to our neighbors wherever they may be. The offerings for the first quarter of 2019-2020 went to the Garden City Food pantry to bless our nearby neighbors.

Safe Sanctuary Clearances

Volunteers working with children and youth need to have Act33 and Act34 clearances updated every five years. There is no charge for these clearances for volunteers.  Contact, Amanda, Director of Christian Discipleship, at This email address is being protected from spambots. Welcome to the Nursery!

Some people brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch them, but his followers told them to stop. When Jesus saw this, he was upset and said to them, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children. I tell you the truth, you must accept the kingdom of God as if you were a little child, or you will never enter it.” Then Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them."   -- Mark 10:13-16

Our mission is to provide a safe, loving, and learning environment for your child so that you may have peace of mind while you worship and attend Sunday School.

We provide nursery care for all young children, infants through age 2, during our Sunday morning worship services.  Heather Wilmotte and Dan Matthews are our nursery attendants on staff.  Our attendants are screened with criminal background checks and child abuse clearances in compliance with MUM's Safe Sanctuary program and Pennsylvania's requirements.

Children must be signed in and signed out of the nursery.  An electronic paging system summons parents when necessary.

Safe Sanctuary Change

PA House Bill 435 was signed into law to increase protection for children and youth in Pennsylvania. This law requires all volunteers working with children and youth to have the following two clearances: The PA Criminal Record Check (Act 34) and the PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 33). The new law requires updates to clearances every three years.

Our policy is to require both clearances for all volunteers working with children and youth and for all church staff members and to require the clearances to be updated every three years. Staff members will all be required to also get FBI clearances, as will new volunteers from out of sate.

We take our responsibility for the safety of our children and youth very seriously. To see our entire Safe Sanctuary Policy, click on the Safe Sanctuary tab under Children and Youth.
